Help send our team to Worlds!
Our team participates in numerous outreach events with our community to share our love of FIRST and STEM. Several examples of this include:
Brickfair Virginia: a LEGO expo, where we gave demonstrations of our FLL robot and innovation project
Kalmar Nyckel LEGO Ship Building Day: an event where we worked with the Delaware FLL Head Referee to teach children how to program the FLL robots to complete missions on the field
LOAD Robotics LEGO Ocean Build Festival: a festival we hosted with a LEGO build competition, FLL robot demos and programming lessons, and more, all ocean themed to match this year’s field
Tour of the University of Delaware: We visited the UD Makerspace and received a tour of the Mechanical Engineering building and workshops. We also met with UD students to discuss what it is like to be a Mechanical Engineer
Trunk or Treats: Our team participated in numerous Trunk or Treats. We decorated our outreach robot with a Halloween theme and explained FIRST to attendees.
Halloween Parade: We created a team float, and participated in the Newark Halloween Parade.
Deep Roots: We visited a homeless shelter for families and taught them how to program LEGO robots, drive our outreach robot, and build with LEGOs!
Our team has made connections with and inspired teams throughout the USA and other countries across the globe:
England: We introduced some friends to FIRST, and inspired them to start an FLL Explore team and 2 FLL Challenge teams. We helped mentor them, and had Zoom calls to talk about Core Values and the importance of working as a team when they needed assistance with this.
Czech Republic: We met a team at the 2024 World Championships and decided to stay in touch. We had Zoom calls to discuss FTC and starting a new team this year, which both of our teams are doing.
United States: We connected with teams from across the country. We met a team from Utah and the World Championships, and later visited them, where they introduced us to their goats.
We also met three teams at the World Championship event who knew us and recognized us from our videos on our LOAD Robotics Youtube Channel, from Nebraska, Connecticut, and Brazil.
